Meet Dr. Meghan Benavides, Ed.D.,
COO and Educational Director
Dr. Meghan Benavides, Ed.D., serves as COO and Educational Director at MEDEC-CR, where she leads training programs for healthcare professionals.
With a strong background in curriculum development and healthcare education, she is dedicated to advancing evidence-based cannabis medicine in Costa Rica.

Educational Expertise
Dr. Meghan Benavides is an organization, language and systems equity expert. She has earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in Spanish linguistics and literature, and a doctorate in education and organizational learning and leadership. Meghan served working for 7 years as a teacher in the US public school system and 2 years as an educational leader in Costa Rica.
She has published over 10,000 pages of unique, differentiated, and multilingual curriculum on Teachers Pay Teachers working to make school a better environment for all students.
Meghan has also worked in business ethics, educational consulting, coaching for students with disabilities, qualitative research, and healthcare training. Dr. Benavides will support the work of MEDEC setting forth a mission and vision and organizing the information in engaging, high-quality learning modules.
A Personal Touch
Dr. Meghan Benavides, Ed.D., brings extensive experience in differentiated education and curriculum development, leading our training programs to empower Costa Rican healthcare providers with evidence-based knowledge in cannabis medicine.
Her hobbies include practicing yoga, reading, cooking, and traveling to experience new cultures, all of which enrich her perspective and dedication to holistic health.
